Itinerary
Day 1:
Kampala - Queen Elizabeth National ParkYou will be picked up from Kampala and transferred to the southwest of the country. On our way we will pass the Ugandan Equator where we will make a stop for photos and souvenir shopping. In the afternoon arrival in Queen Elizabeth NP and continue to A) Simba Safari Camp B) Ihamba Safari Lodge or C) Mweya Safari lodge for overnight (L, D)
Day 2:
Queen Elizabeth National ParkThe day begins early as we start with a morning game drive and head for the mating ground of the Uganda Kobs. We search for the lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat before returning for lunch. In the afternoon we take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the abundant bird life that is sighted, and the elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari. In the evening, you can visit the Kikorongo Womens Group where you can learn of the history of the Bakonjo and play their musical instruments as well as craft making. Day 3:
Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi National ParkAfter breakfast you may go for a hike in the Kyambura Wildlife Reserve in search of the chimpanzees (optional, not included). After this optional activity we continue to Bwindi, home of the endangered mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at A)Buhoma Community Bandas B)Engagi Lodge or C) Mahogany Springs (B-L-D)
Day 4:
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National ParkThe highlight of your safari: a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi! Expect to walk in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! Day 5:
The Batwa ExperienceAlthough Bwindi is mainly known for the gorillas it has more to offer. Today you will enjoy the Batwa Experience, a firsthand introduction to one of the most unique cultures worldwide. The Batwa pygmies are a forest people displaced from the rain forest they shared with mountain gorillas. This experience will give you the opportunity to learn more about their age old culture while you enjoy a hike with the Batwa guides, the revenue generated from these activities directly benefits the Batwa to strengthen their community. Day 6:
Bwindi National Park- Lake Mburo National ParkAfter breakfast we depart the impenetrable forest of Bwindi and head to Lake Mburo National Park. As we enter the park it is likely that you will spot some wildlife. After checking in you will go on a boat ride on the lake to view the rich bird life and many hippos that are cooling off. Dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock Lodge, B) Mantana Tented Camp or C) Mihingo Lodge (B-L-D)
Day 7:
Lake Mburo National Park-EntebbeEarly start of the day as we will go for a safari walk guided by a ranger, Lake Mburo is the only national park where you can experience a safari on foot. Return to the lodge for breakfast and with a game drive on our way out we depart the protected area and drive back to Kampala. Arrival in the afternoon and proceed to Entebbe where you will be dropped at A) The Airport Guest House, B) The Boma Guest House or C) Protea Hotel Entebbe (B-L)
Day 8:
DepartureAfter an early breakfast, you set off for Kampala and lunch enroute We are looking forward to seeing you again! (B)
